OnePlus is the first company to include 5G compatibility in their smartphones, making them perfect for accessing 5G networks. These networks offer much faster speeds than traditional wireless networks, making them ideal for use in areas where high-speed internet is needed. Not only are OnePlus smartphones perfect for accessing 5G networks, but they also come with great performance specs that make using them a pleasure.
The OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are the first smartphones to include 5G compatibility. This means that you can use these devices to access 5G networks, which offer much faster speeds than traditional wireless networks.
This guide will show you two different ways to enable 5G on your OnePlus phone. However, be aware that not all OnePlus phones will support 5G, so be sure to check with the manufacturer if you have any questions.

1. Enable 5G on a Old OnePlus Phone
If your OnePlus phone is older than 3 years, it may not support 5G. However, there is a workaround that can still enable 5G on an old phone.
To do this, you’ll first need to turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your old phone. Then, you’ll need to download and install a special firmware update from the OnePlus website. After downloading and installing the firmware update, turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your old phone and connect to the internet using a 3G or 4G network. Once connected to the internet, open the firmware update file that you downloaded earlier and click “Update Now.” The firmware update should then install automatically and enable 5G on your old OnePlus phone.
2. Enable 5G On An Older OnePlus Phone With A New SIM Card
If your older OnePlus phone doesn’t have a built-in modem or if you want to use a new SIM card in order to use 5G, there is another way to enable 5G on an older phone with a new SIM card. To do this, you’ll first need to unlock your bootloader on your newer device and then flash a custom ROM onto it in order to allow access to the modem via USB connection (if necessary). After flashing the ROM onto your newer device, you’ll then need to insert the new SIM card into your older device and turn it off (turn off both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth too).
3. From OnePlus Website
If you don’t have a newer OnePlus phone, or if you want to use a new SIM card in order to use 5G, you can still enable 5G on an older phone using the OnePlus website. To do this, first visit the OnePlus website and sign in using your username and password. Then, click on My Device at the top of the homepage. On My Device page, click on Edit next to Phone Model. You’ll then need to choose between enabling 3G/4G/5G (depending on which type of modem your old phone has) and enter your old phone’s IMEI number into the space provided. After entering your IMEI number and clicking Submit, a confirmation screen will appear asking you to confirm that you want to enable 5G on this device.
